FAQ

You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers

When should I sign?
As early as you can. In Tallahassee, leases for next August sign the fall before, and the most requested plans (the studios and one-bedrooms) go first. Rates step up as the building fills, so signing early locks in the lowest rate.
Can I move in early?
Sometimes, for a fee and subject to availability. Ask the office as soon as you know; we can’t promise it on move-in week.
How do I finalize my lease?
Once your application is submitted, your lease is sent to you (and your guarantor, if you have one) to sign online. When every signature is in and your fees are paid, your lease is final and your bedroom is reserved. Watch your email for confirmation and next steps.
What’s required to sign?
A completed online application, a valid photo ID, the application and administrative fees, and a guarantor for most student residents. The leasing team will let you know if anything else is needed for your situation.
What happens on a tour?
A member of our team walks you through a furnished model home and the amenities: the rooftop pool, the 24-hour gym, the study rooms and the coffee bar. Bring your questions; we’ll cover floor plans, pricing and what’s included. Tours run daily from the leasing lounge at 501 Chapel Drive, or by video if you’re out of town.

What is a guarantor, and is it required?
A guarantor is usually a parent or guardian who agrees to cover the rent if the resident can’t. Most student residents lease with one, and the guarantor form is completed online as part of the application. If a guarantor isn’t available, ask the leasing team about the options.
If I’m an international student, do I need a guarantor? What documentation do I need to provide?
International students are welcome at The Renegade. If you don’t have a guarantor in the U.S., ask the leasing team about the alternatives, including a guarantor service or an alternative deposit. Plan to provide a valid passport, your visa or I-20, and proof of enrollment; the team will confirm exactly what your application needs.
How do I sign a lease at The Renegade if I’m under 18?
Residents under 18 can live at The Renegade with a parent or legal guardian signing the lease alongside them. Complete the application online, and the parent or guardian will be asked to sign as well. Call or text the leasing office and we’ll walk you both through it.
